Another recommended attraction by the hostel owner, and also a filming location of Dae Jang Geum. The folk museum was surprisingly huge, with more than 100 houses and facilities. Free tour train is available (except Sunday). We didn't manage to catch the train though. The museum is divided into different areas such as the fishing village, hillside village, Shamanism Village, Daejangguem Mini-Theme Park, Traditional Market Place, etc. Be prepared to spend about 1-2 hours to explore the whole area.

Audio guides are available in Korean, Chinese, English and Japanese with a rental fee of KRW2,000.

After exploring the area, we had lunch at the Traditional Market Place within the museum. There is no English menu available when you order, but there is a signboard with English as well as pictures of the menu near the tables. So the ajumma took our orders in front of the signboard before we returned to our table.
Side dishes - Love the black beans!
Seafood pancake (Pajeon) 파전 - KRW8,000
Seafood stew with abalone - KRW12,000
One of the best pajeon I've tried! The pajeon was KRW 8,000 and it was huge! Good thing that we didn't over order. The pajeon was crispy on the outside and had lots of seafood and spring onions inside. It was cooling to sit in the pavilion for lunch even though the sun was scorching. The place also has a very traditional market feel which you only see in Korean dramas. K-drama fans like me are likely to appreciate this!
