Keun Gaet Mul Sliced Fish Restaurant 큰갯몰횟집 (064-738-1625)
Address: Taepo Dong, Seogwipo 2070
서귀포시 대포동 2070
One of the foods everyone says to try on Jeju Island is the raw fish sashimi. Prior to the trip I didn't research on where to go for food, as I wanted to just eat at wherever we may find. Bad choice for a control freak like me! We relied on the recommendations from one of my iPhone apps, and went to this restaurant at Daepo Port.
The quiet port in the late afternoon
Food prices on Jeju Island is typically higher than in Seoul, since it is where all the tourists are. You get a good sea view for the price that we were paying, however, the service was really lacking.

We reached at about 4pm when the restaurant was empty. The waitress showed us into a private room with the sea view. The sashimi costs more than S$100 for a plate, which was way above our expectations. Hence, we settled for a sashimi bibimbap at KRW 20,000 and grilled tilefish at KRW 30,000.

I must say the side dishes were of high quality, including the radish soup that my boyfriend really liked. The sashimi bibimbap was average though.

However, we'll probably not go back again because of the service we got. The waitresses were not friendly and we had a hard time trying to get their attention. The 2 of them were also killing bugs using the electric swap just at the entrance of the restaurant most of the time while I was eating. I could see them busy with the swap and got slightly annoyed at the sound of the bugs being killed.

On the way to Lotte Hotel, we stopped by Seonimgyo Bridge (선임교/仙臨僑). The entrance to the Cheonjeyeon falls was closed, hence we detoured to see the bridge from far.

Lotte Hotel is just a short drive from Seonimgyo Bridge. There is a duty-free Lotte department store within the hotel. It's actually quite small and we probably took only 15 minutes to finish looking around.

The hotel also has a small casino, with what seems like 10 tables and 20 slot machines.

No photos of the department store, except for the Big Bang & JYJ posters I saw outside the store! Now I regret not taking more photos of the posters I saw. Sighs.
