Paju ~ Heyri Art Valley (헤이리 예술마을)
Heyri Art Valley is a short one-hour bus ride from Seoul. It is probably the most famous for the White Block Art Centre, where many Korean dramas were filmed. There's also the "Museum of Modern History of Korea" which I enjoyed, a good variety of art and craft activities, interesting architecture and lots of open space to roam around!

There are a few gates you can enter from. Gate 4 leads you to Farmer's Table (another one of the filming locations).
I tried to ask for an English map / brochure, but unfortunately there isn't any.
Interesting architecture around the Art Valley
There's lots of activities for young children!
I spent some time at the Museum of Modern History of Korea. There were mostly locals visiting the museum and as I overheard, the older generation still remember using those exhibited items as part of their daily lives when they were young. It's quite amazing how much a society can evolve over a span of half a century.
I have not seen these video tapes for 10 years? I still remember the times when we record new shows over the old ones, and where you need to rewind the tapes and to keep them from turning moldy!
Classroom with typewriters. You can change into old school uniforms for photo-taking. An ajussi (uncle) encouraged me to change into the uniform and he can take photos for me (since I was there alone), but I was too lazy given the number of layers I was wearing.

Filming location of: Player (2018); Familiar Wife (2018); About Time (2018); Why Secretary Kim (2018); Wok of Love (2018); Eulachacha Waikiki (2018); My Golden Life (2017-18); Black Knight (2017-18); While You Were Sleeping (2017); Bride of the Water God 2017 (2017); My Daughter, Geum Sa-Wol (2015-16); Fated to Love You (2014); Cunning Single Lady (2014); Boys Over Flowers (2009) (from Koreandramaland)
Do you remember this as the school cafeteria in Boys over Flowers?
Quiet lunch at Farmer's Table - Beef spaghetti
The art valley is huge, and if you are tired, you can purchase tickets for a ride around the compound
There was a flea market going on when I was there. Lots of hand-made craft!
White Block Art Center & Cafe (갤러리화이트블럭)

This is one of the most filmed places, appearing in so many Korean dramas. The contemporary Art Gallery with floor-to-ceiling glass windows is a very versatile space for filming. It was even used for table tennis in "Another Oh Hae Young - 또 오해영" starring Shinhwa leader Eric Mun and Seo Hyun-jin.
I really liked this cup holding my goguma (sweet potato) latte.
Foresta Book Café (북하우스 포레스타)

Another nice cafe to chill. The cafe is a book paradise (if you understand Korean). The cafe appeared on episode 14 of Fated to Love You (2014), episode 7 of Protect the Boss (2011) and episode 8 of Clean with Passion for Now (2018).
If you still have some time to kill after walking around Heyri Art Valley, take a short walk to Paju English Village (체인지업캠퍼스 파주캠프) for some photo-taking! It was almost empty when I was there, great location for OOTD shots!

When you are done, take the bus back from English Village stop, most likely you will be able to get a seat before the crowds board at the next stop at Heyri Art Valley.
Peaceful Paju
The closest I was to North Korea that day, with North Korea just across the waters
While in Paju, also remember to visit Provence Village, a themed-village with galleries, restaurants, cafes and lifestyle shops in rows of vibrant buildings!
