We stayed in Chatan for 3 nights, and were really blessed with beautiful weather! Araha beach was one of my favourite places. It was soooo relaxing to sit by the beach and watch the sun set (even though I did turn back every few seconds to make sure Miss Ting was still safe at the playground). 😅

We stayed at Hilton for 3 nights, since I wanted a hotel with sea view and indoor pool! Great choice because I looooooove the breakfast spread, so did hubby and Miss Ting! There's even a kids corner for their breakfast items.
I had the french toast with cinnamon powder and almond flakes everyday because it was just so soft and yummy! And fresh grapefruit too!!
Since it was christmas, the shisas were dressed up for the occasion!

For our anniversary dinner we had Italian food at Corrente. Hubby ordered the set menu but I ended up eating most of them 😂 The pasta was my favourite!

We stayed near the American Village - an American-themed outdoor mall with restaurants, shops and featuring the only Ferris wheel you can ride in Okinawa! The place reminds me of the Christmas markets in Europe at night, but the shopping was lacklustre. It was nice to walk around for some photo taking, but we didn't manage to find anything interesting to buy.

Araha beach was beautiful and peaceful, and perfect to bring your busy toddlers! Miss Ting was happy just playing at the small playground with a Japanese girl! I'm amazed how kids communicate even though they can't speak each other's languages.

For dinner, we returned to the area near American Village since we wanted sushi! Apparently this restaurant is quite good based on reviews, and indeed it was cheap and good! The queue was quite long though so we had to wait for about 20-30mins, and only got counter seats in the end.

I didn't try this, but I've never seen eggplant sushi before. Haha!
Pineapples for desserts? I guess it must be yummy since it's one of their local produce.

We visited Kinpaginpa because hubby was interested in the fried fish he saw in the reviews. The fried fish is highly recommended as it's so crispy you can eat the entire fish, including bones! I felt that the sushi and tempura was average though. The place is more suitable for alcohol and sides, and they allow smoking inside the restaurant, so may not be suitable for families with kids.

The shopping mall was huge and we didn't have time to explore the entire mall. We are also not mall people (we prefer to visit markets), so we only visited Uniqlo, Daiso and the grocery stores we saw. It's a nice place to chill if you are hiding from the afternoon sun, or if you need a break while your kids are napping. Strollers are available at the entrance!

In Chatan, there seems to be lots of places for chilling at night over a bottle of beer while you enjoy the cool weather, especially the stretch around American Village / Hilton. Not much I can remember of Chatan except for Araha beach and the Hilton breakfast (since I'm writing this more than 6 months later), but it's a great location to connect you to the rest of the attractions in Okinawa.
