Myeongdong Backpackers

Myeongdong Backpackers is incredibly near to Myeongdong (명동 / 明洞) shopping area! It's about 5 minutes walk away. If you look at the location map in the link above, Myeongdong shopping area is just next to Ibis Hotel. I think we went night shopping at Myeongdong every night while we were there.
Reservation of the room can only be done at most 2 months before the check-in date, and you need to email them to confirm the reservation 3 times (30 days before, 15 days before, 5 days before check-in). This is required because you don't need to pay a deposit.

The reception is at the 2nd floor of the building, which requires an electronic token to enter. There's no lifts in the hostel. Thankfully we got a room on the 3rd floor!

We reserved a double room. The room was very basic, with very thin walls. It was quite noisy at night, not recommended if you're a light sleeper.

The shower head was linked to the sink tap, so you can either use the shower or the sink at any one time. The translucent wall for the toilet was leaking a little, thankfully I was cautious of it and didn't put any valuables right next to the toilet wall. The water actually leaked onto the floor beside the bed.

Aircon is not automatically available during Spring. We asked for the aircon remote control, and met some Singaporeans asking for the same!

But for about S$30 / pax / night, with such convenient location, I couldn't complain much.
