The Search for Cherry Blossoms in Korea - Yeouido 여의도 (汝矣島)

The most popular location for cherry blossom (벚꽃) viewing in Seoul is probably Yeouido.

Yeouido 여의도 (汝矣島) is a large island between the gangnam (강남 江南 - literally south of the river) and gangbuk (강북 江北 - north of the river), hence the name Yeoui do (do means island "岛". Every year during spring, there will be the cherry blossom festival, which attracts millions to the area. The most famous place for cherry blossom viewing is the road along the National Assembly, and also along the south part of the island.

Though this may be the most famous location to visit, there are other places that should not be missed. I'll write about those places soon!

How to get there:

Southern bank along the Ecological Park - Singil station 신길역 (Line 1 or 5) Exit 2, cross the bridge and you'll see the ecological park as well as the rows of cherry blossom trees.

Yeouido Saetgang Pedestrian Bridge [샛강다리] - You will see this bridge when you come out of Exit 2.

Along the Yeouido Hangang Park - Yeouinaru Station, Line 5 Exit 2 or National Assembly Station, Line 9 Exit 1

Yeouido is also the home to the 3 broadcasting stations. I took a walk and ended up at KBS, and of course, how can I miss the touristy moment of taking photo of KBS Cool FM open studio, where Super Junior's Kiss the Radio (sukira 슈키라) is hosted. :)
