Dae Jang Geum Park (Previously Yongin MBC Dramia) (용인 대장금 파크(구, 용인 MBC 드라미아)) is a short 1 hour bus ride from Seoul. Being an avid Korean drama fan (including 사극 (sageuk) drama, or historical dramas, this is one place I didn't want to miss. Even the jangma (장마) / monsoon season didn't drench my excitement!

Address:
Gyeonggi-do Yongin-si Cheoin-gu Baegam-myeon Yongcheon-ri 778-1
경기 용인시 처인구 백암면 용천리 778-1번지
How to get there:
- Take Seoul Subway Line 3 to Nambu Bus Terminal (exit 5).
- Purchase the ticket bound for BaegAm (백암). It's 4,500 krw when I bought it. The bus stops at a few locations and Baegam is the 3rd stop.
- From Baegam, take a taxi (approximately 8,000krw for 10mins) or the shuttle bus #105 (1,100krw using t-money / 1,200krw cash).

Ruler – Master of the Mask)

Bus stop to purchase the return tickets
The ticket office is on the right of the white claw vending machines
Popular Korean dramas such as "The Moon that embraces the Sun" (해를 품은 달; 擁抱太陽的月亮), "Dae Jang Geum" (대장금; 大長今), "Jumong" (주몽; 朱蒙), "Queen Seon-deok" (선덕여왕; 善德女王), "Isan" (이산; 李祘), "Dong Yi" (동이; 同伊), "Gu Family Book" (구가의 서; 九家의 書), "The Scholar Who Walks the Night" (밤을 걷는 선비), "Empress Ki" (기황후; 奇皇后) were filmed here. Unfortunately there was no filming on the day I went.

I took the 10.40am bus and reached baegam at about 11.40am. The next shuttle bus was at 12.25pm so I decided to take a taxi instead. There's a taxi stand right about 20m from the bus stop you alight from.

It was a rainy day when I went there, and the dirt paths became mud paths. So, remember to wear shoes that you are OK to dirty!

This is where you can have a tea break, and take photos! If you're a drama fan like me you can also take photos with the standees of your favourite actors and actresses, all dressed in costumes from the Joseon era!
No prize for guessing which drama is one of my favourite!

On the first and second floors, you can see drama posters as well as signatures of the actors / actresses!

Just outside the building, you can take photos with your favourite actor or actress!

The filming set is divided into 3 areas, the palace, the village for the commoners and the area for the noblemen. Personally my favourite area was the village for the commoners!

Da Jang Geum filming set

Nobleman's house

Wine shop

Street of Joseon leading to the "capital"

Another nobleman's house

Cloth shop

Dried fish anyone?

Many of the majestic scenes you see in the dramas such as the ceremonies were filmed here

Scholar's favourite hideout

Medicine shop

Secret Moon pavilion where many scenes from The Moon that Embraces the Sun were filmed!

The pavilion where the King (Kim Soo Hyun) spoke to Woon (Song Jae Rim) at night
Filming site of Hundred Year Inn in Gu Family Book 구가의 서

Arena for archery

This pair of brothers were like warriors fighting against each other, and they were given a time limit of 5 minutes before their mum made them leave. Cute!

The whole area is open and you can enter any buildings (unless stated otherwise) and play with the props! Don't spoil them though!

Definitely worth a trip if you ask me!
