Launceston, Tasmania
Launceston was a brief stopover for us before our next destination. We had half a day for visiting in Launceston and our first choice of attraction was definitely somewhere scenic. Launceston Basin Chairlift was the best choice since it's also the number 1 attraction in Launceston! We had an enjoyable time there despite the chairlift ride being a little scary!

Don't look down if you are scared of heights, just look in front! I'm sure the scenery will make you forget your fears :) If not, choose to take a stroll in the reserve. It's equally beautiful.
And for the naughty people, no swinging or bouncing on the chairlifts!

Batman Fawkner Inn
Batman Fawkner Inn is a basic 2-star hotel, which I will not really recommend during winter. We had a relatively cheap deal (about AUD 60 for 2 pax), but the toilet was really cold at night! There's free wifi and a kitchen where you can cook, and it's near the city centre. Pros and cons, but it's fine for just one night!

On the way - Scenic Tasmania
In Tasmania (or Australia in general), there's not much that I fancy buying, other than honey!! We stayed for a while in the tiny shop and bought bags of honey! So much that I had an episode at the airport when I forgot to check in the honey, and the airline staff asked me "There's no honey in Singapore?" -.- Very sarcastic airline staff of my homeland. In my opinion, honey makes healthy souvenirs from Australia, especially manuka honey!

Honey bottles of different sizes. We bought 3kg tubs back.
Honey sampling - I still think the Tasmanian Leatherwood Honey is the best.
Other cute bee products - I love the honey lipbalm too!!
Launceston is good for a 1 day stopover, and if you are on the way towards the east, drop by the Tasmanian Honey Company!
