We wanted to have lunch at Shizuka (志津香) since the reviews were good, but didn't realise that they close on Tuesdays! The restaurant is quite a walk from Shin-Omiya station, and since it was a rainy day, we took a wasted trip there and were cold and wet from the rain. Due to the weather we didn't want to go far to find another restaurant, so we had lunch at 得得奈良 which was just opposite Shizuka. The food was not bad, just that smoking is allowed in some parts of the restaurant so it's not child friendly.

Tempura Udon at 得得奈良

We also decided to visit the supermarket beside the restaurant for some shopping. Yes we bought hangers because there wasn't enough hangers at the airbnb we stayed at. We travelled around Nara by taxi since the attractions are nearby, it was raining and we were travelling with a baby.

Todaiji Temple 東大寺 and Nara Park 奈良公園
Address: Japan, 〒630-8208 奈良県奈良市Zōshichō, 雑司町406-1 南大門

Like what other visitors said, you don't have to go look for the deers at the park. They're everywhere near Todaiji Temple. Once you reach the entrance to the temple, you'll not miss them. Little V was quite terrified of them so she was happy (hiding) in her carrier.
Welfie with the deer

Konnichiwa deer

There's several stores selling "deer-crackers" (鹿煎餅 Shika-senbei) but we didn't see any deer attacking those stores. They only attack tourists holding the senbei. Amazing!

Crawling through the pillar for good luck

Nursing rooms are few and far in Nara. I was recommended this app called Baby Map and it was helpful during my trip in Japan. It'll show you the nursing rooms / diaper changing rooms near your location. There wasn't any nursing rooms in Todaiji, and since Little V doesn't like the nursing cover, I had to use the handicap toilet within the temple compounds. Not the best choice but at least most of the toilets in Japan are clean.

Higashimuki shopping street
Address: 8 Higashimuki Nakamachi Nara-shi, Nara-ken 630-8215 Japan
Shopping streets can't be missed since we are interested in local food!

Fruit stalls are one of our favourites!

We requested for the stall owner to help us rinse the kyoho grapes so that we can eat them on the go :D

We bought mochi from 中谷堂 (nakatanidou) and it was soft and yummy!

Sewer cover shot at Nara. Because my mum wanted. :)

We spent slightly less than 5 hours at Nara, and then back to Osaka for dinner.
