Ganggangsullae (강강술래) is a traditional Korean dance first used 5,000 years ago to bring about a bountiful harvest. It's performed by women by dancing in a circle under the moonlight. Ganggangsullae is also the name of the BBQ restaurant in Seoul that I really loved!

There's several outlets in Seoul, but the most popular among tourists is probably the one in Hongdae since Hongdae is almost a must-go for tourists.

Also read my recommendations in Hongdae.

Ganggangsullae Sillim branch

Ganggangsullae serves good quality pork and beef BBQ, and lots of Korean side dishes (ban chan). The prices are mid-ranged (about 20,000krw for 1 portion of marinated beef ribs (about 3 ribs or 9 pieces of beef) and 17,000krw for marinated Korean pork), so expect to pay about 30,000 to 50,000krw per pax depending on your appetite!

Nutritious Hot Stone Rice
(comes with set menu or order separately for 7,000krw with soybean paste soup)

This is my must-order when I go there. Firstly I love Korean hot stone rice with all the yummy legumes! It's also interesting how they finish it by pouring water into the pot and mixing in all the nicely charred rice!

Scoop out the rice

Pour water into the hotstone pot

Enjoy!

They also sell beef and pork gift sets! It's a great present idea if you are visiting a Korean family :)
