Our first stop for our Hokkaido trip and it was worth it! We had a great seafood brunch at one of the restaurants there. Definitely memorable as I've never eaten such sweet and tasty king crab before!

We only walked along the main street and decided to eat at 海鮮食堂 北のグルメ亭 within the Kaisen-Shokudo Kitano Gourmet-tei (seafood shop). It turned out to be very crowded by noon. Great choice as we enjoyed our lunch. I especially loved the crabs and the miso soup with kombu!
Shop selling a wide selection of fresh, frozen and dried seafood.
I had a taste of the uni and it was sooooo good!! (note: I'm not a uni fan actually)
They have Chinese staff in the restaurant who can make recommendations for you.

Sweet king crabs!!
Unfortunately I still cannot appreciate Tuna Belly (Otoro 大トロ), the fattiest part of the Tuna Belly. My hubby enjoyed it though!

i-chocolat from Shop Piccadilly
If you are a nursing mum, there is a nursing room within Shop Piccadilly with diaper changing table, and hot and cold water dispenser. It's a bit noisy with the crowds outside though.
Mixed soft serve from the Soft Ice Cream House in the courtyard. It was summer but still cool enough to have a quick ice cream break outdoors.
There's small and large cups available. We bought one large cup to share.
Information board for the factory walk. Opening hours 9am to 6pm.
If you visit on your arrival date in Japan, you can enter free!
For parents with strollers, store your strollers on the ground floor next to the ticket counter, as it's not stroller friendly on the second floor. Initially the staff told us that we can bring the stroller up to the second floor where the exhibits start as there's a lift. We only realised after carrying the stroller up 2 flights of stairs that it's not stroller friendly and there's more stairs to navigate. In the end we carried the stroller back to the ground floor.

There's a photo point in front of the Sapporo Mechnical Clock Tower! Entry is via the courtyard at the back!

Opening Hours: 11.30am to 10.30pm
Telephone Number: +81 11-233-2911
Family Amenities: None - The restaurant is on the second floor and access is only via stairs. There is a lift in the building but it doesn't stop on the second floor. The entrance to the restaurant is quite cramped so you will need to fold your stroller. There's a big toilet available but no diaper changing table.
Spices used for the soup curry
We ordered the chicken and pork set, with additional cheese on rice for my hubby. Soup curry is one of the recommended Hokkaido dishes to try, and I can understand why! Soup curry is light but flavourful, unlike the thick Japanese curry available in Singapore! Initially I was a bit skeptical about this dish as it just seems weird to me. Together with locally produced vegetables, it makes a great match and all of us finished the soup! You can customise the spiciness to your liking and add more sides / vegetables if you like.
Chicken set - non spicy
Pork set
Rice with melted cheese. You can choose to have the cheese in your soup as well.
Susukino streets - Love the buildings!

Tanukikoji Shopping Arcade
Address: Japan, 〒060-0062 Hokkaidō, Sapporo-shi, Chūō-ku, 南2中黒3条西1丁目
Since we were in the area, we walked over to Tanukikoji Shopping Arcade for some light shopping. There's lots of restaurants, pharmacies and souvenir shops along the covered shopping street.
Love the summer decorations! Fireworks!
Little V was excited too!
Address: Japan, 〒060-0063 Hokkaidō, Sapporo-shi, Chūō-ku, Minami 3 Jōnishi, 5 Chome−1−1
We also walked to Norbesa Shopping Mall as there's a ferris wheel at the top of the building. I just wanted to take some photos with the ferris wheel and realised when we reached the top level that there's no photo spots. Basically there's only an entrance to the ferris wheel and no open space to walk out to unlike the ferris wheel in Taipei at Miramar shopping mall.
There's a upscale food market on the ground floor though. Looks interesting but we didn't buy anything since we still have many days left in Hokkaido and can't bring along the fresh produce.
