Daein Art Market
Gwangju is the sixth largest city in Korea, and is the gateway to many smaller counties in Jeolla region. We stayed one night in Gwangju for our trip to Damyang the next day. It was a rainy Sunday evening, but I had one of the best meals ever in Korea.
Most of the stalls in Daein Art Market were closed on Sunday, but it also meant that we were able to see more of the art installations freely.
Business H Motel
This new motel is just across the road from Gwangju Bus Terminal, and although it may be a little dodgy looking, and weird that 2 females were to a motel, we had a good stay there as the room was very comfortable!
Gwangju bus terminal
Can't find the address online, but the motel is located around the red box. You should be able to see the H motel sign when you are at the cross junction.
Hotel room key
The motel is one of those self-service (vending machine) motels, though the receptionist actually came out to help us after we stood there for a while. From this screen, select the room you want.
Next, choose whether you want to stay for 3 hours (대실) or overnight (숙박).
Insert the cash into the slot. It costs 40,000krw a night.

Yeongmi Oritang (영미오리탕)
This restaurant is located in the duck stew street in Gwangju. There were so many restaurants selling duck stew, and we chose the one with the most crowd!
Address: 126 Gyeongyang-ro (102-31 Yu-dong) Buk-gu, Kwangju South Korea 광주 북구 경양로 126
Side dishes
Duck stew
Perilla seeds for dipping
I'm not a fan of water parsley, but it tasted good with the stew!
Delicious delicious duck stew! The stew has a strong soybean taste, and I can't remember how much of the stew I drank. It costs 25,000krw for 2 pax. The meal was so satisfying that we ended up walking almost 3km back to the motel! Definitely one of the best meals I had in Korea!
