Gyeonghuigung Palace (경희궁)
The last palace in Seoul left on my bucket list, I decided to go there on a quiet weekday to avoid the crowds, and was thankful to find the palace beautifully decorated for a movie filming! Fortunately, entry to the palace was still allowed as the filming was going to happen in the evening. On the other hand, I didn't get to see Park Shin Hye, who acts in the movie Sang Eui Won.
Address: 55, Saemunan-ro, Jongno-gu, Seoul 서울 종로구 새문안로 55 (신문로)
Opening Hours: Weekdays 09:00 - 18:00, Weekend 10:00 - 18:00 (Closed every Monday and 1 Jan)
Free Admission
How to get there: From Seodaemun Subway Station (Subway Line 5) Exit 4, go straight 150 meters up to the Naeil Newspaper Office on the corner and turn right there.
The palace, decorated in the way you can only see in Korean dramas and movies.
Irworobongdo - Painting of the Sun, Moon and the Five Peaks
Gyeonghuigung is much smaller than the other Seoul palaces, so if you have been to the other palaces, you will probably find it a tad underwhelming. However it's a good place to go to enjoy the peace while you admire the architecture from the Joseon Dynasty.
